I haven't written in awhile, mostly because I've been super busy lately. Ever since the time change, when it started getting darker later, I've found myself really living life to its fullest.
Probably my biggest undertaking has been exploring the world of Mezzetta brand pasta sauces. I happened upon their marinara by accident. It was the first one I saw with no added sugar, so I just grabbed it and didn't think twice. Little did I know that small choice would open the door to a whole world of pasta sauce exploration.
At first, I didn't think to explore outside of Mezzetta's Napa Valley Bistro Homemade Marinara Sauce. Could lightning really strike twice? What are the odds that their other sauces would surprise and delight my palate in a way I never knew possible? As I stood in the sauce aisle of Sprouts staring out the window, I saw it was still light out. I realized there was so much time left in the day and also, so much time left in my life. So I grabbed a jar of Mezzetta's Napa Valley Bistro Homemade Spicy Marinara and never looked back.
I can't help but look back at that day and laugh now. Little did I know that decision would catapult me into a thrilling whirlwind of Mezzetta hysteria. Next, I tried the indulgent Caramelized Onion & Butter marinara. Then the elegant Truffle, Porcini & Cream. I hadn't even tried all the flavors, and yet I knew Mezzetta sauces had already taken over my life. By the time I got to the Parmigiano Reggiano marinara, I couldn't even wait to cook an accompanying meal and just started drinking from the jar.
Mostly my nights are now filled with driving to the furthest edges of town to find a grocery store that carries the more exotic Mezzetta flavors, such as Calabrian Chili & Garlic. Once I've bought however many cases the store has on hand, I roll down the windows of my Toyota Camry, crack open a jar of Mezzetta and just drive. The wind in my hair. The cold kiss of Mezzetta sliding down my face. There's nothing else quite like it.
Anyway, if you've wondered where I've been and what I've been up to, now you know. I've been drinking cases of Mezzetta Napa Valley Bistro marinara sauces every single night for over a month.
